My brother sent me this link that gives you tips on how and where to lock your bike up to avoid it being stolen. It's a great site and it has pictures showing you the 'right way' and the 'wrong way'. I like pictures.

so I officially moved Wonderling to wonderling.org today! yay! But don't worry, it's still at typepad, so all previous links/feeds and such should be fine.
After finishing the last Harry Potter book I picked up House of Leaves
. Adam recommended it, saying it was really scary. So far it's been creepy, not scary yet, but very odd and creepy. The writing style reminds me a lot of Jeff Vandermeer
which is refreshing after so many months of reading books written for a teen audience.
Paper Brain is in the final stages of recording and there are even teasers on the Paper Brain myspace page.
I've also been watching Lost, from the beginning. I tried watching it a while back and it really isn't entertaining if you haven't seen it from the beginning, but once you see it from the start it really is as good as everyone says it is.
I had some very grandiose ideas for re-vamping the design of the page, but I was quickly thwarted by my non-pro typepad account's limitations. So, this was my compromise. I like the soft colors, they're soothing. I like octopi, they're lovely.
hopefully the green bee design won't be sorely missed.
I have a penchant for vintage photos and how cute to have a whole collection dedicated to that sweet, innocent state of sleep. via Swissmiss.
I'm sure most of you have seen this by now, but I still find it amazing. I honestly thought this was a joke when my co-worker sent it to me. I thought they had put two different shots in, just to mess with you.
When I was on my poster making kick I drafted up a poster for Paper Brain's show this friday which is a benefit show being put on by PDX Pop Tomorrow!. I expected Pop Tomorrow! to make their own poster and fliers for the show, but made mine anyway because I was bored. I just looked at the Pop Tomorrow! website and *my* poster is right there on the home page! It's also the primary photo for Portland Oregon Indie Music's myspace. I know it's really not a big deal, but it's great to see that other people like my work :)
Monday was one of those amazing days where time seemed to stand still long enough for me to get all those "little things" done. It seems like they just build up, but they're not really important enough to actually do them because other things need to get done first. Getting all those little things done is probably one of the best feelings ever. Especially when that list includes thoroughly scrubbing my apartment, rearranging the furniture and finally getting rid of all the boxes from when I moved in two months ago. I also got my flat tire fixed (you don't even want to know how long it sat in my brother's garage waiting to be revived) so I no longer need to worry about getting another flat and being stuck with only 3 good tires. I have also been having issues with the little fob that unlocks, locks and sets the alarm on my car. It's been finicky for weeks. So Adam and I drove out to Milwaukee to the Hyundai dealership only to have the parts guy take the fob apart, put it back together and like magic, it worked fine. There is a thrift store just down the street from the dealership and we spent, I believe, two hours there sifting through people's unwanted things. I found the cutest fabric, white with little strawberries! I still can't believe all that wonderfulness happened in just one day.
Of course when I take Monday off the coolest posts go up on my favorite sites so here they are...late, but still great.
finally a tutorial on making those amazing shrinky dink rings! I've been wanting to try it forever, but not sure exactly how to shape them. Planet June does a great job of not only describing the process, but there are also pictures of each step. via CRAFT
Popgaget had these lovely raindrop shaped shower speakers for your ipod. If I hadn't just indulged myself with an ipod shuffle (only 49.99!) for the gym I would definitely be tempted to buy one of these. available at Audiocubes
Anyone who is following the democratic debates will want to check this site out. With all of the fighting about things Hillary and Obama have said this is a great way to decide for yourself by seeing what they really did say. via swissmiss
Drawn from a Kobe spring Fillico is water for the rich and famous. The bottle is encrusted with Swarovski crystals and etched with gold. It will cost you at least $100 and if you buy the gold or silver crowned bottle it's double that. Is it possible that this will replace the trendy kabalah water?? via trendinsights
Since it's (FINALLY!) Friday and everything I've posted this week was a picture with a link I will recap my 'crazy' weekday adventures. In list form.
(1)Monday I had band practice and a quiz.
(2)Tuesday my office mate and I placed a grow pirate into a large beaker. grow pirate, grow!
(2a)I became a hurricane at home and cleaned like I've never cleaned before. Bear was perplexed.
(3)Wendesday was my brother's bday.
(3a)the peanut bush sprouted green stems!
(4)Thursday, another band practice after being stuck in traffic for over an hour.
(5)Friday (today!) a show! We play Slabtown tonight at, most likely midnight. whoop.
oooh, exciting. One perk of this week was getting a ride home everyday! Not that I don't enjoy my bus time, but man...it's nice to have a ride every once in a while. I also started reading Candide. I get the strange sensation that I've read it before...but it's not familiar enough to be sure.
well, on to the weekend then :)

Think being lost on an island with a volleyball named Wilson is easy? Howstuffworks has an article on how to survive being lost at sea or on a deserted island. There are even stories of actual survivors.
I knit. I sew. I play in a band called Paper Brain. I fund my fun by coordinating the biochemistry dept. at a university.
