So after 5 weeks of peeping, molting and stinky poo the day has finally come to put the chicks outside permanently. Yesterday was sunny and warm so off they went into the coop and there they stayed. It was kind of hard though...when it got dark they all ran to the corner of the coop and cry-peeped cause they wanted to go "home" (AKA the tiny wire cage they've been living in). I shut them inside the coop and they seemed to quiet down. When I went to let them out this morning they were fine and came outside to peck at the ground. Hopefully it will start acting like June here, I do NOT want to have to bring them back inside.
the coop in all it's glory
all nestled in. Mel Gibson/Miss Sophia, Cheeky and Pinto. so cute!
I also finished my final paper for school this year. I'm really excited to have the summer off, especially because when I go back I will have to work 10 hour days to make up for missing fridays for 8 hours of school :(
I've been swamped at work and the internet at my house has decided that it will work with all the computers except for mine, which is why there was no post yesterday and why today's post is rather lame-ish.
One project I'm itching to get started on is cooking Ramen. Yes, Ramen. At the Ramen home page you will find all sorts of recipes that feature Ramen. I was skeptical at first, but they all sound really good!(thanks Adam)
So in the 10 seconds that I've had to look at my favorite blogs I found this. I've seen the whole "toilet paper roll/cord organizer" before, but what a wonderful idea to cover it with pretty paper/fabric! via CRAFT
The office I work in is fairly spacious, but we are all in the same, moderately sized room with those fabric covered dividers. One of my officemates watches movies on her lunch break on her computer. She spends most of the hour laughing very loudly while the rest of us are working. I can't say it's bothered me that much, but I could see it becoming an irritation and think that it is probably very annoying to the woman who sits next to her and has to answer phones.
So what does one do? I'm going to do nothing. I have a fabric divider between us, but if it did bother me would I go to my boss? would I just tell her myself? Is it even appropriate for me to say something? hum.
So my computer crisis at work is, hopefully, over. I've got MS Office 2007 installed and linked up with the latest version of adobe. I am a happy girl. I've spent the bulk of my day making new flyer designs for our seminar speakers and running around making sure today's seminar speaker has everything she needs.
ok, so this is really really creepy looking, but super fantastic as well. Makes me think of Indiana Jones when the girl writes "love" on her eye lids. I think the eye lids are a highly underused part of the body
so you stick these stickers on your eye lids and sleep away! think anyone would notice??? ha! via bits and pieces
Since it's (FINALLY!) Friday and everything I've posted this week was a picture with a link I will recap my 'crazy' weekday adventures. In list form.
(1)Monday I had band practice and a quiz.
(2)Tuesday my office mate and I placed a grow pirate into a large beaker. grow pirate, grow!
(2a)I became a hurricane at home and cleaned like I've never cleaned before. Bear was perplexed.
(3)Wendesday was my brother's bday.
(3a)the peanut bush sprouted green stems!
(4)Thursday, another band practice after being stuck in traffic for over an hour.
(5)Friday (today!) a show! We play Slabtown tonight at, most likely midnight. whoop.
oooh, exciting. One perk of this week was getting a ride home everyday! Not that I don't enjoy my bus time, but man...it's nice to have a ride every once in a while. I also started reading Candide. I get the strange sensation that I've read it before...but it's not familiar enough to be sure.
well, on to the weekend then :)
I knit. I sew. I play in a band called Paper Brain. I fund my fun by coordinating the biochemistry dept. at a university.
